Lofts

1 Introduction to simple lofts

Simple Lofts After successfully completing this lesson you will be able to:
  • Create features by lofting between profile sketches.
  • Understand best practices for creating lofts.
  • Control lofted features using Start and End Constraints.
2 Lofted Fascia

Fascia Loft After successfully completing this lesson you will be able to:
  • Create the fascia loft shown here using three sketch profiles.
  • Copy and paste a sketch.
  • Create a Derived Sketch.
Derived sketches are exact copies of the original sketch and retain the link from the original to the derived. They can only be placed, not changed.

A working drawing of the fascia can be downloaded from the following link: Drawing of Fascia (PDF, 290kB)
3 Overview of Funnel loft

Overview of Funnel Exercise This lesson provides an overview of how the funnel will be modelled in lesson 4 below. In particular it highlights the need to divide up sketch geometry for loft profiles so that they contain the same number of entities, thereby giving the best loft feature.
4 Funnel Loft Exercise

Funnel Loft After successfully completing this lesson you will be able to:
  • Create the funnel shown here using Lofting, Shelling and Sweeping.
  • Use Split Entities to divide up sketch geometry for lofting.
  • Create a Sweep along a model edge.

A working drawing of the fascia can be downloaded from the following link: Drawing of Funnel (PDF, 96kB)
